About Doug Childs

Douglas Childs, AIA, FACHA, leads Tactics Studio, a healthcare planning and design firm. With 20+ years of leadership in the healthcare industry, his breadth of experience ranges from strategic planning through construction.

Other areas of expertise include the application of Lean thinking, prefabricated construction, process improvement, simulation modeling, and investigation into the future of healthcare including presentations on “Trends in Outpatient Care – Facilities for the Future” to a number of healthcare systems.

Doug is a Board Certified healthcare architect through the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), served for six years on the Board of Regents and was recognized as a Fellow by ACHA. He is the former chair the ACHA Next Practices Committee and co-chair of the ACHA/CCAIA California Health Facilities Forum.
